The Shocks played our one ill-fated gig at the miserable 169 Bar.

It was so demoralizing, I guess we just didn't want to play anymore after that.

The exterior of the miserable 169 Bar at 169 East Broadway in Manhattan. Don't go.

We played our one show at this miserable excuse for a club called 169 Bar (because it was at 169 Something Street). It was just real poorly run, so sound person, and the wouldn’t give us the promised start time because we didn’t have enough pre-sale tickets sold or something. It was so demoralizing, I guess we just didn’t want to play anymore after that. I was the drummer of the band. I really liked playing with Benny and Kelly, they were terrific people too.
