You may or may not know that this song (“Clean-Up Woman”) was composed by Miami songwriter and musician Clarence Reid. Reid was a member of KC and the Sunshine Band, and wrote some of their hits too.)
You also may or may not know that Clarence Reid had an alter ego named Blow Fly. Blow Fly was a “super hero” with the cape and the leotard, and some kind of fly mask that changed with the sesons and the yers, and the longest middle fingers known to man. (Actually, he often “flipped the bird” with his ring finger, so either he knew something the rest of us didn’t, or he didn’t have a clue what was going on.) He made records where he would gather some friends and some good musicians and do dirty versions of the current hits of the day, including, of course, “Clean-Up Woman”. I urge you to hunt it down and listen to it if, like me, you have no taste.
