Alan and I went to see The Leather Uppers, a band that was a huge inspiration and influence on The Hi-Balls, at The Local, a.k.a the “ship bar”, because of the decorated ship’s bow that loomed over the bar. That was the only decoration in the place, otherwise it was like a church rec room in there.
If I recall correctly, we got kinda drunk and praised the Uppers to their faces too much. But I was pretty excited about meeting my heroes.
