David Rhoden.

I saw a Burnley Vest sho at The Den (under Two Boots).

I must have thought this show went pretty well, because I decided to play a show there myself. All by myself.

The Den was a dark little bar under Two Boots Pizza in the East Village. It was a place where nobody went, really, unless expressly invited to see your friend’s acoustic act.

I must have thought this show went pretty well, because I decided to play a show there myself. All by myself. It was dire, if I recall correctly. Maybe worse.
The solo acoustic thing is beyond my powers. I’ve tried a few times. I tried busking in the subway, once, and I could barely get the words out of my mouth. An old guy gave me a five-dollar tip, maybe so I could say “I made some money; I’m done”, and go home. I could see that was not going to be my way of making a living. Just take that off the list.
